This Week in Scandinavia — Copenhagen Pride, Way Out West & August in Full Bloom

Back to Latest News

There are weeks when Scandinavia simply hums with energy — and this is one of them. Copenhagen Pride celebrates its 30th anniversary with rainbow flags across Rådhuspladsen. In Göteborg, Way Out West fills Slottsskogen with The Cure, Gorillaz and Zara Larsson. Stockholm prepares for its free Culture Festival. And in Malmö, Konsthallen's extraordinary Bouchra Khalili exhibition deepens into a community programme of storytelling and music. August in Scandinavia doesn't slow down — it opens up.

Gabrielle's Pick

"If I could only do one thing this week, I'd head to Way Out West on Thursday evening and stay for the Stay Out West programme. There's something about Göteborg in mid-August — the light over Slottsskogen, the warmth of the crowd, and that particular energy that only happens when a city throws its doors wide open. The Cure under the Swedish summer sky? That's a once-in-a-lifetime moment. And if you're in Malmö instead, walk through Kungsparken after dark and find Youmna Chlala's sound installation. Trust me."
